Wessel

Thomas Wessel assumed his role as Chief Human Resources and Industrial Relations Director at Evonik Industries AG, Essen, in September, 2011. Prior to this, he was a member of the Management Board and Chief Human Resources Officer of Evonik Degussa GmbH, Essen.

In his career, he has worked as Chairman of the Management Board, RAG BILDUNG GmbH; member of the Management Board of RAG Beteiligungs-GmbH; and has operated in several positions RAG Aktiengesellschaft, including Head of Human Resources Division.

He completed his vocational training as an Industrial Clerical Officer at Bergbau AG Lippe, Herne. He also trained as a Personnel Officer (IHK), Gelsenkirchen, and gained further training in Human Resources Management (VWA), Bochum.

He was born in Herten, Germany.
